TPU polymerization under water pelletizing

 ThermoplasticPolyurethane(TPU), is a type of high polymer which can be plasitified after heating and Solvent-soluble polymer materials, it is with high modulus, high strength, high elongation, high elasticity and excellent oil resistance, low temperature resistance, wear resistance, aging resistance and other comprehensive properties, is a new type of environmental protection materials. It is a linear polymer material formed by the reaction of diisocyanate, macromolecular polyol and chain extender.

 TPU is divided into elastomer, adhesive resin, hot melt adhesive, spandex slice, ink binder resin etc according to different purposes.

According to the different raw materials used, it can be divided into several types such as polyester type, polyether type and polycarbonate type etc.

 The whole production system is divided into four parts, the raw material constant temperature storage and transportation system, high-precision dosing and mixing pouring system, co-rotating twin screw extruder reactor system and melt granulation system, produce TPU pellets in a continuous feed. Due to isocyanate and most polyols are solids, so the solid raw material needs to be melted into a liquid before use.The dosing system mainly makes the three raw materials continuously injected into the twin-screw reactor in high precision according to the ratio of raw materials; the extruder is the core of the complete system, all the raw material reactions and the formation of TPU are completed in the extruder, so the screw set arrangement of the extruder, screw speed, temperature control etc will affect the quality of TPU. 

Adopting Cenmen company’s twin screw extrusion reactive method to continuously procude TPU,  the twin-screw extrusion equipment use a high-torque gearbox, high-precision screw elements and optimized screw arrangement, which is beneficial to the complete reaction of the material and will not cause thermal decomposition.

The whole system has the advantages of short process, high output, automation, stable quality and mature technology. And the whole process will not touch the solvent, and reach green environmental protection.
